Australia is moving toward becoming a republic.

As a republic we will require a flag which expresses our own unique identity.

The Oz Republic flag design series showcases possible design alternatives for a new Australian flag.

New Australian Flag Design 1

Oz Republic flag designs retain the traditional blue background and white star elements representing our colonial past and current national identity.
The 'defaced' British Ensign (Union Jack) has been removed.
Green and Gold design elements have been omitted (from the 'Selected' series) as these are our official sporting colours, not necessarily our official national colours.

Design elements have been added to acknowledge and give due respect to the Traditional Owners of this land we now call Australia. It is the land in which we all now live and work together.
Full acknowledgement of our 'real' history and a commitment to formalise a negotiated Treaty is the key to revealing our true national identity.
Oz Republic acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Design Poll

The Design Series page displays all Selected and Archived flag designs. Each design image has a ‘Like’ button, previous likes are also displayed. By providing your feedback, Oz Republic can get a better idea of which designs have appeal (if any).
